Difference between Digital TV & Analog TV

How digital and analog television works
Analog signal and analog television: - Old TV and Analog television transmits programming or signal in a continuous signal called analog signal. Analog signals are a representation of time varying quantities in a continuous signal. Basically, a time variance is presented in a manner in which some sort of information is passed using various types of methods. Each analog signal uses a property of the final medium to convey the information and data for the signal.
This analog signal is approved a particular radio frequency, from the television delivering antenna over the air to the getting antenna connected with your TV set. Each TV stations is assigned a particular frequency that suits to its channel number. When you monitor your TV to a given channel, you are actually receiving transmissions on that particular frequency. But analog signal exactly does not reproduce the original programming due to over long distance and the result is that analog transmissions typically produce a lower-quality picture than the original.
Analog signals have a benefit over digital signals in that they have a much higher solidity which can existing more enhanced information.
Digital signal and digital TV: In digital signal, original information is converted into a string of bits before being transmitted. Digital signals can be sent for long distances and suffer less interference than analog signals. Digital TV, or DTV, on the other hand, is transmitted as data bits of information, just as computer data is written or the way music is written on a CD. So, Digital antenna picture is much better than the analog TV image and digital TV also offers much better sound.
Digital television is broadcast over the air, or through your cable TV or satellite provider’s equipment. It allows for a higher-quality signal and allows a larger number of signal “lanes” than an analog transmission. The digital broadcast consumes less bandwidth than the analog one, so you will have access to more channels.
Although TV technology modified from analog to digital in the U.S. on May 12, 2009, there are still people that may be watching the few remaining low-power analog TV applications. The DTV transition is happening because digital is better television—better looking, better sounding, and with more channels of programming.
